Moving to Jekyll
After tesing out a fair number of blogging platforms, I have moved my blog to Jekyll. Jekyll generates static HTML pages which you can rsync to your server. Content is written in Markdown. Comments are “outsourced” to Disqus. You can use git to manage things. You don’t have to update anything unless you write something new. Updating wordpress has always been a headache. There are no fancy editors and there is a lot of command line. But then, that is the fun part.
The setup is very easy with the help of Jekyll Bootstrap.
Thanks to Jain Basil Aliyas for introducing me to jekyll, for helping me setup it up and most importantly for letting me shamelessly steal his homepage design :D
